All our boats have fully equipped kitchens (galleys), so you can prepare food on board. We can help you to arrange supermarket deliveries direct to your boat at the beginning of your holiday.
You can also shop at village stores, farm shops and supermarkets along the way, and of course there are plenty of waterside pubs to stop at, as well as places to eat in the local towns and villages.
We suggest you bring a torch, camera, binoculars, non-slip deck shoes and protective gloves for working the locks. It’s also worth buying a good waterways guide (such as Nicholson’s or Pearsons) which will tell you where the pubs, villages, towns, moorings, water points, sanitary stations, bins and re-fuelling points are along your route, as well as where the locks, tunnels and bridges are, and how many miles you need to cruise to reach them.
We suggest you wear casual clothing and bring wet weather gear. We provide wet weather overalls for the helmsman and life jackets are available on request. Remember the sun’s rays are much more powerful when you are on the water, so pack a good protective sun cream, sunglasses and a hat.
There are TV’s and DVD players on board, but it’s a good idea to bring a pack of cards and a few games for evening entertainment.
To make sure you have everything you need, check your boat’s inventory when you make your booking and then make a list of the extras you’d like to bring.
